Sandy Bay House 1

Designed to capture light, views and sun, the renovation to this 1950s house has expanded the river views with large curved windows. The added concrete floor and solid block walls (“reverse veneer”) act as heat banks. Maximum roof insulation and double glazing, including flow-through ventilation, achieve required energy ratings. The interior now includes an art gallery and is acoustically and thermally stable.
